This weekend I randomly decided to plastidip my Blazer's chrome bits and wheels black. I think it came out pretty well, but I don't know if its actually an improvement over the chrome look, but I only have $8 invested, most of my 'dip was from leftovers from friends/family. What do you think? Good or bad?

I like it in terms of it being something new to look at after seven years of the same thing. If you're not familiar with Plastidip and hate the look, just know its entirely removable like a vinyl wrap (I fully assume everyone here knows what it is, but just in case).

Whew, that's a relief. I was spraying it out on my driveway, if only I could have recorded the looks people gave as they drove by. Most must have assumed I was wildly spraying black paint all over the thing haha. Several areas had to have the dip peeled off the paint.

Do you blaze in your Blazer?
If you anser anything but "yes" you're letting us all down.

I appreciate it. It almost gives the undercover cop car look. All the government vehicles have the blacked out grilles and the single chrome hubs where I am.
Personally I think it turned out pretty well.

That's the look I was going for, glad you noticed!

Of course! I won't lie to you though, it does sit in the parking lots outside my apartment/campus during the school year, when I try to conserve money by riding my bike. When the opportunity presents itself though....I blaze. Haha

The rims are very cool, I like how you left them looking 'police spec". I like the blacked out grille and headlight surround. The bit I'm not a fan of is the top of the mirrors. Why didn't you leave them red?

Nice work.
Definitely an improvement imo.

Thanks, glad you like the results! If you look at the top picture you'll see it had a chrome mirror cap, so I made it black. If it were red, I would have left it.

I like it all but I also am partial to black low lights on trucks. Bits of chrome are ok but I think it's over used these days.

I plastidipped my rally car last year, and now I'm paying the price. It's such a pain to remove. There's no way I'm ever using plastidip on anything I own ever again! I hope you don't have to suffer through the same nonsense I have had to.

That scares me! I've only ever heard good things about it, hopefully I don't have any trouble peeling it off when I get tired of it.

Oh ok.. I thought they were simply covered in snow... the black looks much better than the chrome then

It makes it look like a government truck. Like the guy who orders the trucks for the Parks Service got a wild hair up his ass and bought one in burgundy instead of green. I dig it.

Haha thanks, as long as you like the wild park ranger's ride I'm happy!
